The Honda Racing team heads to Assen in the Netherlands this weekend (18-20 September) for the tenth round of the MCE British Superbike Championship and the opening round of the ‘Showdown’, with Dan Linfoot and Jenny Tinmouth aiming to deliver two strong performances aboard the Honda CBR1000RR Fireblade.
The 4.542km fast and flowing legendary Dutch TT circuit in the north west of the Netherlands, is renowned for exciting races and Honda’s Linfoot arrives at the first of three BSB Showdown rounds after landing a place in the all-important top-six at the previous outing at Oulton Park.
The 27-year-old from Yorkshire is currently joint fourth, with Tommy Bridewell, in the overall standings with 507 points – 46 points behind series leader Josh Brookes – and hopes he can deliver another strong performance in order to gain some more valuable championship points.
Meanwhile team-mate Tinmouth is also bidding to continue building on her previous performances aboard her CBR machine and hopes to break her personal best lap times at the Dutch circuit. I’m looking forward to going to Assen, it is a circuit that I enjoy every minute of. The layout lends itself to fantastic racing and going there now we’re in the Showdown is exciting! It’s a track that Honda has been strong at in the past so I’m looking forward to getting started. We seem to have been weak during Friday practices at past rounds and that’s something I’m looking to change this weekend, so that we’re in a stronger position sooner. Ultimately I need to be looking at two further podium places to challenge my fellow title fighters.

Really looking forward to Assen this weekend and also getting to go abroad for a round! Assen is a great, iconic circuit and it’s a track I really enjoy riding at. We’re coming from the previous round at Oulton Park, which is undulating and very up and down, whereas Assen is pretty flat and fast so looking forward to getting out there on the CBR. I’m hoping to be able to break some more of my personal bests this weekend and claim some more top-25 finishes.
